As the Institute’s Research Scientist, Elissa directs in-house clinical research projects. Elissa received her Ph.D. in Linguistics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2002, followed by a post-doctoral research fellowship in the University of Toronto Department of Medical Imaging/University Health Network from 2002-2005.  Elissa was a Sessional Assistant Professor in the Linguistics Program at York University from 2005-2009, where she taught a variety of undergraduate Linguistics courses and supervised Master’s students in Theoretical Linguistics.  Elissa received her Master of Health Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Toronto in 2012.  Elissa aims to foster clinician-researcher collaborations that will lead to advances in the understanding and treatment of speech and stuttering disorders.
