The Speech and Stuttering Institute is a non-profit agency. Our fees are used exclusively to cover all professional time and overhead.
- Individual Therapy: $130 for a 45 minute session
- Group Therapy: $100 per client for groups of two or more
- Intensive Stuttering Program: $2,400 (*77 hours of treatment, $31/hour)
- Consultations: $160 per hour
The fees are based on direct time in the clinic as well as the preparation, documentation and administrative activities required to provide the service. Fees for additional clinical services are charged at the rate of $160/hr. Additional fees apply for external written reports, completion of the “Speaking” and other portions of the Disability Tax Credit (T2201) application that a Speech-Language Pathologist may fill out, and for all activities beyond those required to provide direct service. External written reports and other additional clinical services are only provided upon request.
We reserve the right to change fees at any time. Existing clients will be given notice of any rate changes.
Cancellation and Billing Policy
The full session fee will be billed for no-shows and for sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice. When we are provided with advance notice we can offer cancelled appointment times to other clients. The fee will be waived in cases of emergency or inclement weather.
Fees for service are paid in advance or at the end of each therapy session. We accept:
Cash, cheque, Visa or Master Card
An administration fee of $25 will be charged for any cheque returned by your bank for any reason, in addition to any interest charges on overdue amounts.
Our billing relationship is with you. Once you have received and paid for the service, you may seek reimbursement from your insurance provider. We will issue a receipt(s) that you can submit to the insurance company.
Disability Tax Credit
You may be eligible for a Disability Tax Credit. We can complete the tax form but Canada Revenue Agency will determine your eligibility. There is a fee to complete Disability Tax Credit forms (see above).
