About Margit Pukonen, M.H.Sc., Reg. CASLPO

Margit Pukonen is the Program Director at The Speech & Stuttering Institute. She received her Master of Health Science degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Toronto and has worked at The S&SI (formerly Speech Foundation of Ontario) since it opened its doors in the 1980s. She has been a front line clinician, managed the clinical programs and has overseen the development and evaluation of new treatment and professional training programs for children with motor speech disorders. She has participated in research studies and coauthored publications on the subject. She also has extensive experience running and developing group therapy programs and professional training workshops. Under Margit’s professional leadership we look forward to continuing to offer our unique brand of excellence in care, education, research, and adaptability to help serve our clients best!
